Response to Covid -19 Stage 4 Lockdown Measure

As you are aware that a strict Stage 4 Covid-19 restriction has been introduced across Melbourne from Sunday, 2nd  August for six weeks, we are pleased to inform you that we are still continuing to provide our disability support services. We have put in place the rigorous infection control process to provide reliable, high quality support for our clients.

We at Cosy Home & Community Care are committed to continuing to provide services for both existing and new clients. We understand that people with disability are more vulnerable than ever with the new lockdown measures. We wanted to keep you informed as part of the essential services we have devised a COVID – 19 response strategy for our clients and support workers, to assist them with their services during this period.

Our COVID – 19 response strategy includes the following supports

Face to Face/ Direct Support

  • Face to Face support will be continuing as regular unless the client requests to halt services
  • Our support workers will be provided with PPEs such as gloves, hand sanitisers and masks
  • Our support workers will not be allowed to attend any shift if they are unwell or have recently come in contact with anyone who is unwell

Indirect Support

  1. Shopping
  • Our in-house staff will be contacting clients for a list of groceries they require.
  • This list would be given to their respective support workers who would be purchasing and delivering the items to the client’s residence.
  1. Wellbeing Checks
  • Our support workers will be contacting their clients either through audio calls or video calls depending on the technology available to our clients and their preferences.
  1. Collecting prescribed medicines
  • Our support workers would be collecting medicines on our client’s behalf, if they have proper prescriptions and deliver them to the client’s residence.
  1. Emergency Medical Appointment
  • If there are any urgent medical appointment which need attending, we can help arrange a support worker, provided all required safety precautions are taken.

Cleaning services

  • Our cleaning services would be carried out as regular unless our client wants to halt the services. Our support workers are also advised to maintain safe distance and minimise any unnecessary contacts.
  • Our support workers are instructed to carry PPEs such as gloves, masks and sanitiser as a part of following all the safety procedures and precautions during the time of COVID -19.
