Often, people with disability need support to live independently. This support can be received in their own home or along with a group of people in a shared accommodation. Independent living can allow you to have more choice and control in your life. If you are a person with disability, go prepared to your NDIS planning meeting and state your goal to live independently so that Supported Independent Living (SIL) is included in your plan.
At Cosy Home and Community Care, we offer various options under SIL depending on your needs and goals.
Independent living
We assist you to live independently in your own home by helping you maintain your independent living skills while supporting your learning of new skills such as cooking, budgeting, travel and accessing community.
Shared living
In the shared supported independent living option, you can move into a home where you can live with other like-minded people matched with you for ensuring compatibility, while receiving tailored support to develop your independent living skills.
In-home respite
In this option, we can support you in staying on in your home with staff who can be available to you for the tasks and duration that you require.
Whatever may be the arrangement you choose for SIL, we will support you in developing new skills for living more independently, such as
