Tell us about your previous professional life before working at Cosy Home Care?

In a previous life I have been a Pharmacist at several hospitals (Alfred and Austin, as well as regional hospitals) and retail Pharmacies across Victoria. I did a Masters of Pharmacy (in drug design in a Central Nervous System Drug research group) and a PhD in Medicine (drug design, endocrinology, thyroid hormone). Computer graphics and NMR Spectroscopy were the methodologies that were used. I have been a Professional Officer for the Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Victorian

College of Pharmacy (Monash University) where I was responsible for the day-to-day outcomes across an internationally renown research group of 18 people, and an NMR spectroscopy Laboratory. I have supervised many post-graduate students who have achieved Honour, Masters and PhD degrees. I have been appointed as Research Fellow (Reader level) at both Melbourne and LaTrobe Universities. I also worked during 2000 to establish the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy at LaTrobe University.

I have three adult children, and worked with my husband to manage a structural steel, construction company for 30 years. My husband became very ill in 2013, and was diagnosed with Dementia in 2019. I supported as a primary carer until he moved into SIL accommodation in September 2022. I now work in the NDIS SIL industry, where I used my lived-experience and past knowledge to support People with disabilities.

As you can read from the get to know me, Dr Sharon is a valuable asset to Cosy Home Care, with her experience she assists in molding our team to get the best achievable results.
